A wedding means lots of fun. . . .and lots of work too. It is a celebration, a public performance and a personal experience, during which, life-long commitments are made. Love, romance and ritual make this mysterious and magical event one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of life, from the big decisions to the smallest details which add so much to the occasion.

The wedding cake plays a traditional roll within the marriage celebrations. It is a very ancient tradition which symbolizes union and allows the guests to share in the couples happiness. This ritual remains as important today as it was centuries ago. The cake forms a focal point at the wedding breakfast, particularly during the cake cutting ceremony which is traditionally the concluding part of the formalities.

Style and choice varies immensely, from a single cake for a smaller gathering, to multiple tiers concealing tempting combinations of rich fruit, madeira, carrot cake or chocolate. Presentation can be in the traditional style separated by pillars, or arranged on a multi tier cake stand, creating space, therefore making the cake appear larger. Stacked cakes, one directly on top of the other are very popular, as are individual cup cakes which can be decorated in a endless variety of ways.
