Information
A free consultation is available to discuss your wedding cake. If you have already decided on your design, thats fine. if, on the other hand, you are in the initial stages and not sure where to start, there is plenty of inspiration and guidance to help you through, from the planning stages to completion and setting up on the big day.
Although tradition dictates that a rich fruit cake was generally the done thing, trends have changed over the years and the wedding cake has evolved into a gourmet designer work of art. More and more couples are moving away from tradition and opting for multi tier combinations of various flavoured sponge cakes. Rich fruit, although quite popular, is no longer thought of as essential. Where as it was customary to keep the top tier of the wedding cake for the 1st anniversary or the christening, this is no longer the case. Individual cakes or cup cakes are making their mark on the wedding scene, with endless possibilities of style and decoration.
A choice of cake bases is available ie: rich fruit, vanilla, almond or chocolate madeira, lemon drizzle cake or carrot cake.
Choices of fillings include vanilla buttercream with strawberry or raspberry conserve, marscapone with lemon curd, marscapone with cherry conserve, cream cheese frosting or chocolate granache.
All cakes will be fondant iced unless agreed otherwise.
Cakestands, knives and separators are available for hire to accompany your cake, but must be returned promptly for subsequent use.
Every cake is individual. The type of decoration can vary so much, therefore your requirements and the price of your cake will be discussed and agreed at your consultation. The prices shown below are just a guide.

Save Your Date
If you are planing well ahead and have not yet decided on the details of your cake, you may reserve the date of your wedding by paying a holding fee of £50.00 (non-refundable). You will however, be required to agree and confirm your order details no later than 3 months before your wedding date.

Terms & Conditions
Ingredients
We use high quality ingredients in the production of our cakes and cookies. Whilst we can cater for special dietary requirements, it must be noted that we work in an enviroment where nut products, dairy produce, wheat and gluten products are used.
Storage
Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and as such, cakes with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in. Refrigeration may cause colours to run and stickiness.
Orders
It is advisable to place your wedding cake order as soon as possible to avoid disapointment. Orders taken at short notice ie: less than 3 months are fine, subject to availability of the date and the subsequent work load.
Deposits
We will require a 25% deposit on placement of order of all cakes, which is deducted from the final balance payable. Deposits and holding fees are non refundable.
Final Balance Payments
To be received by us no later than 1 month prior to the wedding date by BACS, cheque or cash. Please make cheques payable to Breckland Cake Design.
Cancellation
Deposits and holding fees are non refundable. If you cancel within 1 month of your wedding date, payment will be retained in full.
Hired Equipment
All hired equipment must be returned within 3 days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to wedding) or extra charges may be incured to cover further hire costs. A security deposit will be necessary to cover the cost of any damage/replacement for hired items.
